Affective Computing @ USC

University of Southern California’s Institute for Creative Technologies

Welcome to the Affective Computing Lab at USC’s Institute for Creative Technologies.  Our team researches psychological theories of human behavior and creates computational models of socio-emotional behaviors that are embedded in human-like software agents (“virtual humans”).  These virtual humans utilize both verbal and nonverbal modes of communication, and are used to train human users in the military, medicine, education and business, serving as key components in various research testbeds that assess and validate empirical findings.
